Following Russia's 2014 annexation of Crimea and the full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, this exhibition assembled reflections from Ukrainian documentary photographers and photography-based artists. Their works aim to preserve memories of safe spaces, envision hopeful futures, and document war crimes. The project was developed in collaboration with Odesa Photo Days, its director Kateryna Radchenko, and partners including Cinémathèque Leipzig, IDEAL artspace, and galerie KUB. As the Odesa Photo Days festival can no longer take place due to the ongoing war, its team works internationally to sustain visibility for Ukrainian photography and strengthen solidarity through exchange.
