InterEuroVision
Performance · Stage and Costume Design
Residenz Schauspiel Leipzig, Deutsches Theater Berlin, Kaserne Basel, Staatstheater Wiesbaden
Stage and costume design for the performance InterEuroVision by the European performance collective Boys* in Sync, a project that revives the spirit of the 1968 Intervision music festival in Karlovy Vary, which briefly brought together stars from Eastern and Western Europe just weeks before Soviet tanks crushed the Prague Spring.
InterEuroVision reenacts performances from 1968 and investigates the political symbolism, European memory, and LGBTQ+ representation inherent in song contests, showing how both Eurovision and Intervision were always politically charged despite their performative spectacle.
